Jemma McDonagh Agency (JMA) is a boutique literary and rights agency based in London. 

Built on our values of authenticity, curiosity and passion, we work with a community of authors and partners throughout the world and offer bespoke rights representation to literary agencies.


 

ABOUT

Jemma McDonagh launched JMA in 2024.  Jemma has 20 years experience in the publishing industry where she has secured major publishing deals for a diverse list of prizewinning and bestselling fiction and non-fiction. 

 

Prior to JMA, Jemma was Joint Managing Director at The Marsh Agency.  Before that she worked at Gregory & Company Authors' Agents and in the publicity and editorial departments at Orion.

Shortlisted for Rights Professional of the Year 2023, Jemma is also a founding committee member of OpenBooks, the first collaboration between agents, booksellers, and publishers to attract talent from underrepresented backgrounds into the book business.

As well as its own list of authors, JMA sells rights for a select group of agencies across fiction and non-fiction.  We offer full service representation throughout English language and translation markets though each partnership is bespoke and tailored to suit our clients' needs.

 

JMA loves collaborating with authors and clients throughout the editorial process, providing strategy and insight on international potential to find the right home for their books.
